The ranking of the top universities in Emerging Europe & Central Asia has been announced by the QS World University Rankings

  The ranking includes 400 institutions from 85 Emerging Europe & Central Asia countries. The leading university locations include Russia, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Poland, Ukraine, Romania, Czech Republic and Hungary.  Azerbaijan is represented in this ranking by 7 universities - Baku State University (211-220th place), Azerbaijan State University of Economics (221-230th place), Khazar University (241-250th place), “ADA” University (301-350th place), Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction, Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University, and Baku Engineering University share the same range in the ranking (351-400th place). Compared to the last year (2020), two more universities presented the latest insights based on cost, quality of faculty, university size, research opportunities, and national & international student strength.  Additionally, Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) is ranked among 221-230 best universities in the mentioned ranking, which is 30 points higher than last year. Meanwhile, Baku State University, UNEC and Khazar University are ahead of some of the South Caucasus regional universities in the stated ranking.  This year’s ranking has been constructed using 10 indicators, including academic and employer reputation

Language Center under Azerbaijan Technical University starts its activity

The Language Center established under the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) has started its activity. The main goal of the centre is to take into account the interest and desire of local and international students in learning foreign languages (especially English) in order to boost their career prospects. AzTU students will be offered professional and cutting-edge general and business language learning options in 10 languages (Azerbaijani, English, Russian, Spanish, Italian, French, Portuguese, German, Arabic and Chinese). The center also provides translation services in the abovementioned languages. Yet another important mission of this center is to create opportunities for international students to build bridges with each other through holding and organizing cultural events within the university. To the attention of foreigners and stateless persons staying and residing in the Republic of Azerbaijan

Foreigners willing to temporarily leave their place of stay or residence must send an SMS message to 8103 to obtain a permit. In this case, an SMS message is sent to 8103, after the number 1 (2) respectively by noting the number of the relevant document after the abbreviation OYQ (registration upon the place of residence), MOM (temporary staying period), MYI (temporary residence permit) or DYI (permanent residence permit) in accordance with the status of stay and residence in the country. Three cities of Azerbaijan have been accepted as members of the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities

Three cities of Azerbaijan - Baku, Ganja and Gabala - have been accepted as members of the Global Network of Learning Cities, a leading body of UNESCO in the field of lifelong learning. The process of our cities' membership in the network was initiated and organized by the Permanent Secretariat of the Azerbaijan National Commission to UNESCO, with the support of the Ministry of Education, with the participation of our Permanent Representation to UNESCO and relevant executive authorities. It should be noted that the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities is one of the most important projects in lifelong learning. The purpose of the UNESCO Global Network for Lifelong Learning is to exchange experiences in the field of education between member cities, to support the learning process of cities, to promote inclusion, prosperity and sustainable development, to improve the quality of education.
