Three cities of Azerbaijan have been accepted as members of the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities

Three cities of Azerbaijan - Baku, Ganja and Gabala - have been accepted as members of the Global Network of Learning Cities, a leading body of UNESCO in the field of lifelong learning. The process of our cities' membership in the network was initiated and organized by the Permanent Secretariat of the Azerbaijan National Commission to UNESCO, with the support of the Ministry of Education, with the participation of our Permanent Representation to UNESCO and relevant executive authorities. It should be noted that the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities is one of the most important projects in lifelong learning. The purpose of the UNESCO Global Network for Lifelong Learning is to exchange experiences in the field of education between member cities, to support the learning process of cities, to promote inclusion, prosperity and sustainable development, to improve the quality of education. Currently, 230 cities from 64 countries are members of the Network.
