Intergovernmental Scholarship Programmes (“ISPs”) between the Republic of Azerbaijan and foreign countries

-    Within the Intergovernmental Scholarship Programmes (“ISPs”), the education of foreign citizens and stateless persons (henceforth foreigners) is determined in accordance with the terms of the relevant treaties. Foreigners can study in higher educational institutions of the Republic of Azerbaijan at the bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees. -    Within the ISPs, the education of foreigners is determined on a budgetary basis in accordance with the requirements of the relevant contract. In accordance with the contracts students are exempt from payment for tuition fees, accommodation, medical insurance, as well as within the framework of the legislation of the host country, the student is provided with a monthly scholarship.  -    The international travel expenses will be provided by the scholarship holders themselves.     Within the ISP`s there are educational opportunities with the following countries: •    Hungary; •    Kazakhstan; •    People`s Republic of China; •    Romania; •    Tajikistan. In order to obtain an education within the ISPs, the candidatures of foreigners are provided to the Republic of Azerbaijan by means of diplomatic channels of the corresponding state bodies of the country which they are citizens of (relevant ministry).

THE Impact Rankings 2020: results announced. Azerbaijan is the only country ranked in the relevant ranking from the South Caucasus region

The Times Higher Education (THE), one of the world's most influential rating agencies, has announced "The University Impact Rankings 2020" table, which identifies the best universities in the world for their social and economic contributions based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for 2020. The Times Higher Education Impact Rankings are the only global performance tables that assess universities against the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The ranking includes 768 universities from 85 countries. The leading university locations include New Zealand, Australia, USA, Italy, Canada and the United Kingdom. Azerbaijan is represented in this ranking by two universities - Khazar University and Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) and they share the same range in the ranking (601+). Additionally, Azerbaijan is the only country ranked in "The University Impact Rankings 2020" table from the South Caucasus region. THE uses carefully calibrated indicators to provide comprehensive and balanced comparisons across three broad areas: research, outreach and stewardship.

International French journal publishes article by senior lecturer of Baku Higher Oil School Farad Kamyabi

  A scientific article written by a senior lecturer of Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) has been published in the journal “OGST - Revue d'IFP Energies nouvelles” of the International IFP School of France. Farad Kamyabi, Senior Lecturer at BHOS and Director of the BHOS Center for Innovation and Research, together with Abdulmecit Araz, PhD candidate at Sabanci University in Turkey, wrote an article titled "Experimental Study of Combined Low Salinity and Surfactant Flooding Effect on Oil Recovery”. The article says that during the study a series of core displacement experiments was conducted on nine crude oil aged Berea core plugs that were designed to determine the impact of brine composition, wettability alteration, low salinity water and low salinity surfactant flooding on oil recovery. The results showed a significant potential of oil recovery with maximum additional oil recovery of 9.2% Original Oil in Place. Note that the journal “OGST - Revue d'IFP Energies nouvelles” covers all disciplines and areas related to the exploration, production, refining of oil, as well as the economics and use of oil, natural gas and other energy sources, especially alternative energy sources. The editorial committee of the journal consists of specialists from leading universities and industrial enterprises. The journal publishes review articles in English and French. ©bhos.edu.az

Scholarship Programme for citizens of The OIC and the NAM Member Countries 2021

“The Educational Grant Programme for the Citizens of the Member Countries of the Organization for Islamic Cooperation” and “The Educational Grant Programme for the Citizens of the Member Countries of the Non-Aligned Movement” were approved by the orders of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on December 6, 2017 and on January 10, 2018, respectively. The Educational Grant (hereafter “scholarship”) Programmes provide an opportunity for selected candidates on annual basis to study in the leading universities of Azerbaijan at the preparatory courses, undergraduate, graduate, doctoral, general medicine/residency programmes.
