To the attention of foreign citizens

Warning to foreign citizens who want to travel to the Azerbaijani territories that occupied by Armenia Twenty per cent of the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan has been occupied by the military units of the Republic of Armenia. As a result of this military aggression, the Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan and its seven adjacent districts, including Lachin, Kalbajar, Aghdam, Fuzuli, Jabrayil, Gubadli and Zangilan, are still kept under occupation. About a million Azerbaijanis who lived in these territories became internally displaced persons. The UN Security Council adopted four resolutions, demanding withdrawal of the Armenian military units from the occupied territories of Azerbaijan, while the Council of Europe, the OSCE, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Non-Aligned Movement and other international organizations affirmed their recognition of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. The government of Azerbaijan reminds all citizens of foreign countries who want to travel to the Nagorno-Karabakh and other occupied territories that because of the continuing occupation by the Armenian military units those areas are temporarily out of control of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Any visit, without the consent of the Republic of Azerbaijan, to the aforementioned territories, which are internationally recognized as an integral part of Azerbaijan, is considered as violation of sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan, its national legislation as well as relevant norms and principles of international law. The government of Azerbaijan urges all foreign citizens to refrain from travelling to the Nagorno-Karabakh region and other occupied territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Foreign citizens, including journalists who want to travel to the occupied territories of Azerbaijan must apply to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Those who travel to the occupied territories without permission of the government of Azerbaijan will be blacklisted and denied entry to the Republic of Azerbaijan. ©Azertag.az
